WATERFRONT WINE & SPIRITS "BEER GUY" JEFF'S "TWO SENSE"

Jeff (one of our staff) is a self-confessed "Beer Guy" Ask him for a suggestion...and heed his words. Let us know if you like them or not... we listen.

Southern Tier: Pumpking

I think this is, arguably, by far the best pumpkin ale out there.
It’s nice and crisp yet it has that great robust “fall beer” body.
The nutmeg and cinnamon notes are extremely well balanced and the ale is brewed with real pumpkins giving it an outstanding blend of that nostalgic “pumpkin spice” flavor fitted for autumn. Unlike most pumpkin ales, the Pumpking keeps its pumpkin spice flavor in its finish.
If and that’s “IF” you find it in stores try it sooner rather then later as its no longer available for the remainder this year. Oh and did I mention we have it! So swing by and pick up a bottle. The only thing you’ll regret is that it won’t be available again until this time next year.

Brooklyn Brewery: Post Road Pumpkin Ale

As always B.B delivers a solid beer. Their pumpkin ale is delicious and the best way to describe it without doing it any injustice is….Liquid Pumpkin Pie! Although it’s sweeter then most pumpkin ales its ale characteristics shine through its sweet pumpkin pie goodness so that in its finish you’re assured you’re indeed drinking a beer and not a pumpkin pie smoothie. So do yourself a favor and come by and grab a six pack. Just please refrain from topping your glass of post road pumpkin ale with whip cream, as tempting as it is….

Ps. Please let me know how it tastes with the whip cream.

Magic Hat: Hex

Tis the season for October fest beers and all things Halloween so “kill two bird’s with one stone” and get some Hex not only is it a very well balanced and delicious October fest, its got a really cool label and its called Hex….I rest my case.
Stop by. Grab some Hex. Be the “cool kid” at all your upcoming Halloween parties.

Oh Magic Hat you’re the Snapple of beer.
