Isaaks of Salem Honey Wines

A New Winery for the New Year has started in Salem MA and they just made front page news in Salem. This small winery is Isaaks of Salem and they produce a local honey wine. We carry their Dry Honey Wine and the Sweet Tooth Honey here at Waterfront Wine and Spirits. It's nice to see a small local product getting some attention, so read the article and pick up a bottle of the Newest Wine for the New Year here at the store. And if we don't see you, have a happy and safe New Year.

THE BEST WINES AND BEERS YOU NEVER HEARD OF

We were asked the other day.. "how can you compete against the "big stores"? Great question !! My answer was "we don't". It's no fun to sell items because you have to. Most of our wines, beers and spirits (a work in progress) have little or no advertising budgets. Most are small production, hand crafted "gems that happen to be great values. It's a joy to taste them and a bigger joy to recomened some to you. Love it when someone comes back in and says "you know that wine you suggested ... it was amazing"

So come by and ask about 14 Hands Merlot and Hot to Trot .. all the Ca'Momi wines and..... yadda yadda yadda Oh Yea for a "splurge" Federico Tinto... 100% Tempranillo done in the old Spanish wine making style.

Coming Soon: Gift Cards
Loyality Cards and more.

WATERFRONT WINE & SPIRITS "BEER GUY" JEFF'S "TWO SENSE"

Jeff (one of our staff) is a self-confessed "Beer Guy" Ask him for a suggestion...and heed his words. Let us know if you like them or not... we listen.

Southern Tier: Pumpking

I think this is, arguably, by far the best pumpkin ale out there.
It’s nice and crisp yet it has that great robust “fall beer” body.
The nutmeg and cinnamon notes are extremely well balanced and the ale is brewed with real pumpkins giving it an outstanding blend of that nostalgic “pumpkin spice” flavor fitted for autumn. Unlike most pumpkin ales, the Pumpking keeps its pumpkin spice flavor in its finish.
If and that’s “IF” you find it in stores try it sooner rather then later as its no longer available for the remainder this year. Oh and did I mention we have it! So swing by and pick up a bottle. The only thing you’ll regret is that it won’t be available again until this time next year.

Brooklyn Brewery: Post Road Pumpkin Ale

As always B.B delivers a solid beer. Their pumpkin ale is delicious and the best way to describe it without doing it any injustice is….Liquid Pumpkin Pie! Although it’s sweeter then most pumpkin ales its ale characteristics shine through its sweet pumpkin pie goodness so that in its finish you’re assured you’re indeed drinking a beer and not a pumpkin pie smoothie. So do yourself a favor and come by and grab a six pack. Just please refrain from topping your glass of post road pumpkin ale with whip cream, as tempting as it is….

Ps. Please let me know how it tastes with the whip cream.

Magic Hat: Hex

Tis the season for October fest beers and all things Halloween so “kill two bird’s with one stone” and get some Hex not only is it a very well balanced and delicious October fest, its got a really cool label and its called Hex….I rest my case.
Stop by. Grab some Hex. Be the “cool kid” at all your upcoming Halloween parties.

Oh Magic Hat you’re the Snapple of beer.

Cono Sur wines

David, an old friend and super wine rep. brought some wines from the Chilian winery Cono Sur. While I'm not easily impressed, I was "blown away" by them. We started with the entry level Bicycle series Chardonnay and Pinot noir. For wines that retail under $10.00 all I can say is "WOW". David...being the good guy that he is, let me take the rest of the wine home. I whipped up some Creamy Grilled Seafood & Pasta Salad for dinner with the wines and thought I died and went to heaven. So stop by and pick up some of these "hidden gems". And if you ask nicely...I just might share my recipe with you or at least give you other food pairings that will work. Hope to you soon.

Jerry

BTW... also tried the top of the line 20 Barrel Cabernet Sauvignon. It is now my new Special Occasion wine

Welcome To Waterfront Wine & Spirits!

Hello! My name is Jerry Rubin and I am the manager of Waterfront Wine & Spirits of Danvers, Massachusetts. I am very pleased to have an official blog that we can keep updated with any news and events that we will be hosting here at our fantastic store.

Then please come join us Saturdays from 4PM-7PM for our weekly wine tasting. These tastings are fun, informative, social, and free. We feature “hidden gems” from our eclectic inventory and love to share our passion and knowledge with you. In return we welcome your comments and feedback.

If Beer is your choice, we also offer beer tasting on Fridays 4:00PM-7:00PM. The best way to learn is to taste.

So please stop by, try some wine or beer, taste some cheese, (Yes… we do sell cheese) and have fun!
